- Set the phase rings on H
- Turn on light to the microscope (external box)
- Focus on an H/E slide
- Close down the Field Diaphragm ( bottom black ring at base of stage)
- Adjust the height of the condenser using small knob at back under the stage ( the only dial other than the focus knob) until you get a sharp hexagon shape
- Center the hexagon with the two silver knobs that project at 45o towards you under the stage
- Expand the field diaphragm to the edge of the visual field
- Turn on power to the camera box (switch at back)
- Press button marked Frame
- Pull out the camera light knob one stop (on right of microscope immediately above the UV light selector slide bar)
- Focus the eye pieces on the cross hairs
- Focus the image perfectly on the microscope
- Bring the camera into alignment with the microscope by using an allan key to adjust the central ring till the image on the lower monitor looks sharp. If there is a dark patch on one side the camera body is not straight.
ONCE THIS IS SET UP -- ONLY THE CROSS HAIRS SHOULD REQUIRE ADJUSTMENT FROM ONE PERSON TO ANOTHER
